In 2007 more than 95% of our pools built were salt water making Euro Pools is the leading builder of salt water pools in the Rio Grande Valley.
Even though a salt water pool still contains free chlorine, it eliminates some of the issues with traditional pools: odor, stinging eyes, irritated skin and bleached out swimsuits.
In a salt-water pool the water feels smooth and many people feel more refreshed.
The pool water will be added approx. 3000 PPM of salt (the same salt used in water softener or in the kitchen). Such amount is less than 1/10 of the salt content in the Gulf of Mexico and below the level that normally can be tasted by humans.
An electronic generator converts the salt into "free" chlorine. The chlorine sanitizes your pool and then reverts back into salt. The salt is recycled and never wears out (however, some salt will have to be added over time due to loss through splashing out etc.)
Euro Pools uses Pentair IntelliChlor® generator which produces enough fresh chlorine (up to 1.45 lb per day) to keep a pool sparkling clean without the chlorine smell.
As a supplement to salt water pools QuickPure3 Ozone Oxidation System can be added. Such system reduces demand for chlorine, backwash and cleaning of filter and lengthen the life of the chlorine generator cell.
WARNING: If pool, deck or water features have natural stone such as slate, rock, flagstone, or cantera Euro Pools recommends pool owners upgrade to a Freshwater chemical free pool.
