CBP Certified Building Professional®

Euro Pools' owner is CBP Certified Building Professional® which is the highest level of certification by the Association of Pools and Spas Professionals (APSP).

The CBP Certified Building Professional® credential is awarded to builders who have demonstrated a high level of knowledge in pool and spa construction by successfully passing a rigorous standardized written examination and meeting ongoing continuing education requirements by APSP. This credential is also referred to as APSP-certified builder.

"Our members build the most beautiful pools and spas in the world," says Bill Weber, President and CEO of APSP. "When consumers work with an APSP-certified builder, they can rest assured that the beauty is not just skin deep. Their pool and spa will be built using the most current standards and technology, and built to last."

As of March 2008 there were more than ten thousand pool builders in the United States, only one hundred nineteen (119) were APSP-certified.

Better Business Bureau and
  South Texas

Euro Pools is a member in good standing with Better Business Bureau (www.bbbhou.org) and the Association of Pools and Spas Professionals(www.APSP.org).

Both organizations demand ethical business practices from all their members. However, as the fee to join is by no means burdensome, there is no reason for a bona fide, ethical-minded pool builder not to join.

Furthermore, BBB does not have a (complete) file on many pool builders, including pool builders conducting unethical business. Many builders "fly under the radar" either because they are small, are new, or have re-opened under a new company name. In those cases builders may not appear on BBB's website at all or have a neutral record due to no or limited information available.

Similar for APSP. There can be a major difference between being an ordinary APSP member and a APSP-certified builder. Where anybody can sign up and pay for APSP membership, the APSP-certified Building Professional status Euro Pools enjoys can only be achieved through successful examination, certification and commitment to continuing education of personnel.

Even though membership alone is no guarantee for ethical standards, a pool builder's non-membership to BBB and APSP, should raise a red flag for any pool buyer.

Professional Memberships

Euro Pools is member of Ultimate Pools and SwimmingPools.com. These professional memberships - as well as similar programs such as Elysian, PoolPeopleUSA and CareCraft - do not address workmanship, quality nor involve any form of certifications. Such memberships serve commercial purposes only, for example procurement and advertising programs which in other ways may benefit pool builders and buyers.

Dun & Bradstreet (D&B)

D&B is the world's leading source of commercial information. A pool builder's history of payments, good credit and financial strength is essential for the succesful completion of a any size pool project and subsequent support on warranties. Financial distress can lead a builder to compromise on obligations. D&B is mainly used in connection with commerical projects but Euro Pools has no trouble sharing our D&B report with residential pool buyers as well.
